Welcome to Ark Community Education Centre
Ark Community Education Center is a community based school and project located in Mathare sub-county Huruma location (earlier on referred to as Kariobangi) in Nairobi.
Founded in 1998, by Bentina and Benard, the school serves in one of the poorest areas of Nairobi, where school dropouts are seeking their way in a climate of crime and despair.
75% of the population comes from families coming from unreached home making it more attractive for God’s servant to nourish the souls of he people.
We seek to build a strong Christian presence in our neighborhood by offering the community an opportunity to acquire a Christ centered education.
Apart from providing Christian based education, the Ark School leadership is determined to break the cycle of hopelessness, street life and gang activity which is prevalent in our surrounding community by instilling Godly values and fostering Christ like character development.

CBC CURRICULUM
The CBC focuses on developing competencies in students rather than just imparting knowledge. This means that students are evaluated based on what they can do, rather than just what they know.
SKILLS BASED LEARNING
The CBC emphasizes hands-on, practical learning, where students are expected to apply what they have learned to solve real-world problems. This is intended to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Our Objectives:
1. Provide basic education starting from kindergarten, primary, junior secondary, senior school through tertiary level to the people in the slums of Nairobi basing on the new Kenyan curriculum.
2. Provide technical skills e.g. basic computer kills, sewing/tailoring skills & hair dressing.
3. Empower children’s parents with small scale business skills.
Bring together young adults who have graduated from university to do businesses and support community activities e.g. community clean ups.
Bring well wishers and donors on board to help educate and develop our community.
4. Provide psycho-social support to orphans, widows & widowers as well as destitute children to develop their lives
Provide adult literacy to the community members who never had a chance to school.
