Our Curriculum:
Ark Community Education Center provides Primary Education, Junior Secondary and Senior School Education.
We offer the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), the new education system in Kenya that was launched 2021 to gradually replace the 8-4-4 system.
The CBC encourages interdisciplinary approach in teaching and learning, this means that subjects are not taught in isolation.
Overall, the Competency-Based Curriculum is intended to provide a more flexible, skills-based education that prepares students for the real world and to become lifelong learners. It is also designed to be a continuous learning process, with the intention of encouraging lifelong learning.

Competence Focused Learning
The CBC focuses on developing competencies in students rather than just imparting knowledge. This means that students are evaluated based on what they can do, rather than just what they know.
Skills-based Learning
The CBC emphasizes hands-on, practical learning, where students are expected to apply what they have learned to solve real-world problems. This is intended to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Teacher Training
Our teachers are rigorously trained to deliver this curriculum and continue to have continuous professional development throughout the year to keep up with the demands of equipping themselves to deliver great outcomes for the children.
